HOW TO SET UP YOUR CUSTOM DOMAIN ON BLOGGER BLOG

Many new bloggers are often are often faced the difficulty of setting up custom domain with their BlogSpot (Blogger) blog. I have taken the pain to write about this and you are definitely going to find it interesting.

Are you wondering how to purchase a very cheap .COM domain? You can read my article.

IMPORTANT: How to get a .com domain for as low as just $1 on GoDaddy.

How to Change From .blogspot.com to .com on Blogger

You've successfully purchased a .com domain from GoDaddy or any domain seller of your choice. The problem now is "how do I set up my .com domain name on blogger blog". You are in the right place. I will walk you through this problem very easily. Lets get started.

NOTE

Before I go on , note that this tutorial centers around GoDaddy but if you follow these steps, you can conveniently set up your blog with custom domain from any domain company.

Follow the steps outlined below...

STEP 1

On your GoDaddy dashboard, click on your profile icon at the top right then click "My Products".

STEP 2

While on the products page, you should have something quite similar to the image below.

You should see the domain(s) you have already purchased. Click on "Manage All". Notice that in the image above? If yes, cool. Move on to step 3.

STEP 3

After clicking on "Manage All" as directed in step 3. You should find yourself on a page similar to the image below.

NOTE: In my case, there are no "next steps" because I have already registered and finish the steps.

STEP 4

Click on the ellipsis icon as seen in the image above. After clicking on the ellipsis kind of icon, you should see two possible options which are:
  • Manage DNS
  • DNS Settings
We are only interested in managing the DNS. Therefore, click on "Manage DNS".

STEP 5

As shown in the image below, you will find yourself on a page where there is a table title "records".

NOTE: We are concerned with only three CNAMES. Check the image below and take good note of the area marked out.

STEP 6

We have come a long way. At this point, login into your Blogger dashboard.
Follow the steps outlined below.
  • Navigate to Setting------>>Basic.
  • Under Publishing. Take note of "Blog Address".
  • Click on +Set up a third-party URL for your blog.
  • After that, some options will become available. The heading will become "Third-Party Domain Settings".
  • In the little URL address box, type in the domain name you've just registered including the 'www'. E.g. www.freebiesden.com. Check the image below.

Afterwards, click on Save. You will likely get an error message.
"We have not been able to verify your authority to this domain. Error 12."
"On your domain registrar's website, locate your Domain Name System (DNS) Settings and enter the following two CNAMES".

See the image below for the circled important things.

STEP 7

Take note of the two CNAMES provided exclusively for your blog by Google BlogSpot. E.g.
  • www              ghs.google.com
  • The second one is exclusive to your blog
Check the image above for the circled texts. The reason why I didn't blur it is that I don't use the blog. The second CNAME is always exclusive to individual blogs.

STEP 8
Go back to GoDaddy DNS Records Page in Step 5. You are not concerned with the first CNAME. Just the second and third CNAMES will be changed.
  • The first CNAME with "ftp" as name should not be changed.
  • The second CNAME will be changed. Type in "www" as name and "ghs.google.com" as value. Leave the other setting as provided.
  • The third CNAME will also be changed. Type in the CNAME information which is exclusive to your blog. E.g. xxxxxxx as name and xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx as value. Leave the other settings as provided.

THE LAST STEP
This is the last step and it of great importance. First make sure you go back to Blogger and click save. It should work perfectly now.

Furthermore, while still on the DNS Management Page, scroll down to "FORWARDING".
Under FORWARDING, you will notice:
1. Domain.
2. Subdomain.

Under "Domain", type in your complete registered domain name. E.g. www.freebiesden.com.

ADD A SUBDOMAIN
First click on Add.
1. Under the subdomain, type in the registered domain name without 'www'. E.g. freebiesden.com

2. FORWARD TO
Under the "Forward To" option, type in your complete domain name registered E.g. www.freebiesden.com.

CLICK SAVE AND THATS PRETTY MUCH IT!!

Please read very closely. If you are not a new blogger and just want to read how to get a cheap .COM domain name for $1, feel free to scroll down this page using your Middle Mouse Button or Touchscreen or whatever means you can employ...

People who are just starting the blogging race can be easily discouraged by the cost of getting domain names or perhaps, the cost of hosting. If you plan to blog on the WordPress platform, you blog will need to be self-hosted.

The pros of  getting yourself a self-hosted blog feels very attractive but the cost of acquiring one can be quite discouraging for new bloggers. In my humble opinion, you are better off on the Blogger platform as a new blogger. The good news is that you can ALWAYS move your site to WordPress in the future or anytime you deem fit.

In fact, top bloggers usually advice the newbies to start off with the Blogger platform to know how the blogosphere work. Those bloggers have considered various factors such as the cost of hosting, acquisition of themes/plugins and understandability.

The Blogger platform is generally easier for individuals who are just getting started than WordPress. However, it is worthy to note that the WordPress platform boasts of serious advantages over other platforms. The fact that it is very popular makes this very obvious. It stands tall among all blogging platforms.

THINGS TO NOTE

1. If you are reading this article and you have enough money for WordPress hosting, please choose the WordPress platform. Hosting is not too expensive but not everybody can afford it. If you plan to choose the WordPress Platform, Get started with BlueHost for your hosting.

SEO Meta Tags For Blogger Blog

CREATING A GODADDY ACCOUNT

Skip this step completely if you have already registered an account with GoDaddy. Besides, this step is quite simple. Anyone who is familiar with the internet ca easily set up an account with any website. There is no trick in setting up an account with the domain master, GoDaddy. GoDaddy has been around since 1997 so they are pretty much an authority as far as domain names are concerned. That's about 20 good years!.

Please follow the steps outlined below to set up your account with GoDaddy. I will attach pictures to every step. this will prevent new bloggers from getting lost.

1. Navigate to the GoDaddy Website.

2. While on the GoDaddy homepage, click on "Sign In" at the top right. You will have something similar to the image below.

3. Click on "Create My Account" and you are almost done!.

4. The 'Account Creation' page will look like below. If you intend to use Facebook to set up your account, click on "Continue With Facebook" otherwise click fill in the sign up form appropriately and click on Create Account.

That's pretty much it. Lets move on to the second step.

GETTING A GODADDY PROMO CODE

While on the GoDaddy website, search for a link labeled promo. Click on promo then Hot deals.

You can click on this link to access the Hot Deals Page on GoDaddy .

The deals (as of now) include:
  • Free Trial for website builder.
  • Free trial for Online Store.
  • Cheap .com domains.
SURE ALTERNATIVE WAY OF GETTING THE GODADDY PROMO CODE

This is a trick. You must be wondering why I called this a trick. Well, its nothing too technical.
Check and compare the images below with and without promo code!. I discovered this method before I noticed the promo link on GoDaddy. You will find it interesting too.
No Promo

With Promo

You can observe that the prices are extremely different. I tried to register a domain by just visiting the GoDaddy website. Quite successful but I was required to pay $12.17 from the first year. But through the step which I discovered, I would pay just $1.17 including Taxes and other fees.

This is good news for new bloggers who are hoping to purchase a cost friendly domain at least in the first year.

NOTE: Promo codes are mainly for the first year. You will be paying around $10 in the subsequent years. No biggies anyways. Before that time, you would have saved $10. So no big deal right?

THE STEPS

1. Navigate to Google.com.

2. In the search box. Type in "0.99 domain name godaddy".

3. Google should bring up a GoDaddy advert in the search engine result pages. See the Image below.

4. If that works, cool. Click on the GoDaddy Ad as this will take you directly to the promo page if available. This is easy and it eliminates the need to search through godaddy for some promo. Can be annoying.

You will have something similar to the image below.

YES!. The result of the two processes are absolutely the same. If you click on the web address provided above, you will be on the same page as in the above picture.

BRAINSTORMING YOUR DOMAIN NAME

Just type in your desired domain name and you are ready to go. E.g. Enter "freebiesden" and click search. If your desired address is available, congratulations.

BUYING THE DOMAIN NAME SUCCESSFULLY

Your domain is available, you are ready to go. Almost there!. Click on "Add to Cart". After that, click on "Continue to Cart".

NOTE: You can buy more than one domain if you so wish. Just keep on adding available domains to cart. When you're done, click on "Continue to Cart".

You can choose to register for just one year ($1.17) including all taxes and other required fees. If you want to register for 2 years+, its still very cheap. Just play around with things.

Add payment and click on "Complete Purchase".

SETTING UP YOUR DOMAIN NAME ON BLOGGER BLOGS

So you've purchased a domain name? You want to use the domain name with a blogger blog? Here's how to do it.

5 Best Free WordPress Hosting For Bloggers 2018

HOW TO HOST WORDPRESS FOR FREE?

It is not a new thing that many people want to blog but they don't have the financial capacity to purchase hosting and domain name. If you are in that categories, this blog post is for you.

This article is also for those who just need to host their portfolios online or those who need free web hosting for educational purposes. I have personally tried out about 7 free web hosting companies but only three (3) turned out to be satisfactory.

You are reading: Best Free WordPress hosting services for new bloggers and hobbyists who wants to try things out.

If you have enough money for now, you should click this link opt for the cheap BlueHost Hosting Plan as recommended by WordPress.org.

Please note that these companies are not just free, they offer premium plans too......

Those (3) free web hosting companies are:

I will soon write about how to get a free web hosting [WordPress Hosting] on 000Webhost. Please note that it (Free Hosting) is mainly suitable for educational purposes or to show off your portfolios and to test how thing work. When the traffic starts coming, the bandwidth allocated freely for your blog will no longer be enough. You will then be required to start a premium plan. If you can manage to get your blog popular before then, its cool. They have fast servers. Good choice.

It is nevertheless a good choice if you plan to blog freely on the WordPress platform. A domain name is equally important and that is why you are here right? Read On.

NOTE: You can skip to CONTENT OUTLINE to read about getting a cheap domain name.

2.  ByetHost

Byethost is cool too. They have very fast server. You wouldn't even notice you are on a free plan. Premiums are always much better mind you!.. I recently hosted a myBB forum on Byethost and it was so easy to set up.

You should try byethost for your free web hosting.

Awardspace is a popular free web hosting platform. They offer premiums plans and like I mentioned earlier, premium plans are always better. Free plans are cool too depending on what you are trying to achieve and the level of traffic or the number of daily visitors your site attract.

Awardspace is as good as those mentioned above. I think they don't serve ads on freely hosted websites which is a very cool stuff. That makes them a very good choice for free web hosting. I have tried them too.

You will still have to or be required to upgrade your plan to Premium when the "Sea starts overflowing".

4. WPNode

I wrote this post with just three free WordPress hosting in mind. I just discovered WPnode and it is great. WPNode offers free wordpress hosting with no ADS and you can get your site up and running in no time. There are no extra fees. Great security and advanced server. They have good customer support too. However, at the time of writing this article, they are temporarily not receiving new applications because of some issues but they will be back soon. Do well to keep an eye on them.

5. CloudAccess

In my opinion, CloudAccess is as good as those free wordpress hosting providers outlined above but they are more limited. They can remove your site anytime for some security reasons without giving you adequate notice. The free webhosting plan is limited to subdomains. In addition to these disadvantages, you must login to CPanel at least once a month. What if you forget to do that? They reserve the right to remove your website from their server. There paid plan starts from $5 dollars per month or so. they are still a good choice for free wordpress hosting.

On a final note, free web hosting is very nice for new bloggers who are just starting off. Free webhosting is also very cool for showing off your portfolios, educational purposes. Consider them for a website with low traffic. Cool stuff.

Always remember that these companies offer premium plans which are way better than free hosting.

How To Get High Traffic From Bing Search Engine 2018

You are here to read

How to generate traffic from bing.

In this article, I hope to carefully walk you through the process of setting your blog or website up with the Bing Webmaster Tool and ultimately drive or generate some traffic.

The Bing Webmaster tool works just like Google Search Console. They have almost the same features. If you are familiar with the Google Search Console, you should have no problem getting along with this ‘walkthrough’ or guide. These days, it is of great importance for blog and website owners to manually submit their web pages to search engine masters. If you are waiting for Google or Bing to crawl your blog without any effort, you are on a ‘long thing’. It takes some serious SEO effort to rank high on search engines.

READING: How to get traffic from Bing.

If you are reading this article, that means you are a blog or website owner who is interested in getting massive traffic (unique visitors) through the Bing search engine. Statistics show that people use Google search engine more than any other search engines including Bing. That explains the reason why many webmasters tend to focus on Google alone.

Check: Yoast-Like SEO Plugin Meta Tag For Blogger Blog
However, Bing is not too far behind. At least compared to other search engines. Bing boasts of more than 500 million searches per month compared to Google’s about 2.9 billion searches. Well, that’s huge but you can still get huge traffic from Bing if you follow the steps in this guide. 500 million is a huge number of searches per month.
Another interesting thing to note is that in the future, more people might start using Bing. This will put you in a good position if you take the opportunity now. Don’t wait for Bing to start generating 10 billion searches per month.

I took my time to split up the content in order to make it easier to read and follow.

WHAT IS THE BING WEBMASTER TOOL?

The Bing webmaster tool is similar to Google’s search console. Many webmasters take Google as the first priority and that is very understandable. Google is the king in the game but mind you, Bing is not too far behind.

If you understand how the Google Search console work, you won’t have any problem using the Bing webmaster tool. Bing even has more features. That will be discussed later.

DRIVING TRAFFIC MASSIVELY FROM BING

As I mentioned earlier, Bing is just a search engine like Google. They work almost the same way. It all boils down to your SEO strategies. Use the webmaster tools by Google and Bing as provided and you will see great results. The purpose of this article is to get your familiar with the Bing Webmaster tool and use it properly.

CREATING A BING WEBMASTER ACCOUNT

It is quite easy to create a Bing Webmaster account. Click this link to create an account now!

There are obviously no tricks involved in setting up an account. However, I recommend using Gmail to create the account. I had issues using Yahoo mail account. So, just follow the steps involved and create your webmaster account now with Bing.

WELCOMING THE BING WEBMASTER INTERFACE

Below is the first page you are likely to see. That’s cool if true. Just enter your full blog address in the box provided and click “ADD”.

ADDING YOUR BLOG

You have added your site but below is the page you are likely to see. The page requires you to add a sitemap. Move on to the next step please.

ADDING AND GENERATING YOUR SITEMAP

In this step, you will see how to create an XML sitemap for your Blogger blog or using XML sitemap generator plugin for WordPress.

If you are on the Blogger (BlogSpot) platform, click this link to create your XML sitemap. While on the page, enter your blog’s full address. E.g. http:www.billionairesden.com and click “Generate Sitemap”.

NOTE: A full robots.txt file will be generated but we are only interested in the sitemap. Copy the sitemap link as in the image below and insert it in the URL box provided by Bing.

NOTE: WordPress users can also use the same XML sitemap like above. It will yield the same result.

VERIFYING YOUR SITE OWNERSHIP

After the above steps, you will be on a page requiring you to verify ownership of your website. There are two options. The first method is to place an XML file on your webserver but that sounds too technical right?

The second option is easier. Copy the <meta> tag provided and paste it in the <head> section of your default web page.

After that, click on “VERIFY” and you are good to go.

Check: How to use Custom Domain From GoDaddy on Blogger Blog

THE BING WEBMASTER DASHBOARD

If site verification is successful, you should be on your Bing Webmaster dashboard by now. You should see a host of options and tools ready to be used by you. We are going to touch these tools one after the other in order to properly identify their functions.

Thankfully, we have already added sitemap so that is one less problem off the road. There are actually no problems but you should just take your time to set things up.

CONFIIGURE MY SITE

You are now ready to configure you blog. Move your eyes to the left panel on your Bing dashboard and you should notice the tools. Click on “Configure My Site”. Some ‘semi-options’ will become available. Let us go through them.

Sitemaps

You have already submitted a sitemap but there is still room for more. You can still add another sitemap. Can you see the “SUBMIT A SITEMAP BUTTON” button?
