Facebook Introduces New Features For Groups To Build Better  Communities

According to Alex Dave, Facebook hosted its first-ever communities summit in Chicago with several Facebook Group Admins. He added that the Tech Giant has been working since then on tools that will help Group Admins manage their communities.
The following are the new tools introduced for Group Admins and Members:

1.   Welcome posts

Making new members feel supported is vital  to the growth of a community. Admins can now write welcome posts that will automatically tag new members.

2. Badges

Badges have been introduced to aid identification. Members, Group Admins and Moderators can now be easily recognized through their badges.

3. Member Profiles

A new feature called Member Profiles have been introduced by Facebook. " Now, when group members click on another person’s name they will be directed to a group-specific profile, based on publicly-available information like things they may share in common and a feed of that person’s activity in the group.".

4. New Controls

This is a moderation tool aimed at helping Admins manage their communities without much stress. "We’ve expanded the Group Insights tool to include helpful personalized tips, like scheduling posts at times when members are most engaged".
In addition, Admins can now turn off a member's ability to comment or make posts, remove a member who is in breach of the groups rules and regulations.
