Apple's iPhone X screen is without bezel. The flagship phone has an OLED screen. The OLED screen technology is widely known for its deep contrast and saturation, also known for known for its tendency to get burn-in. Google Pixel 2 XL owners have reported cases of screen burn-in. Apple is definitely trying to avoid suffering the same fate.

The tech giant Apple explained further that if you look at an OLED display from off-screen angle, you might notice slight shift in hue and hue. This is a characteristics of OLED display and it is absolutely normal.
The Super Retina display has been engineered to be the best in the industry, also to reduce the effect of OLED screen 'burn in".
